Exhibit Definitions
CAS exhibits are divided into three types: Rotating, Juried, and Curated. Read below for descriptions of how each of these exhibit opportunities can benefit your artistic practice.
CAS has been fortunate to be able to provide many wonderful opportunities for our members through our regular rotating and juried exhibits over the years. In an effort to expand our reach and your career, we have also created a curated program which is designed to match artists who are seeking solo and small group shows with venues seeking artwork for their space.

ROTATING - These exhibits occur throughout the year and are usually back-to-back installations featuring CAS artists. They are limited to space requirements in each venue. The call will close when the space is full. All artists who submit before the call closes will be represented. It is recommended that you apply early for these as space is limited. We will make every effort to accommodate as many artworks as possible while maintaining the esthetics of each show. In some cases, you may be asked to submit images that will undergo a selection process based on the venue and space available. The coordinator will communicate which artworks to bring or if all submissions are accepted. The venue coordinators are responsible for hanging the art and creating the labels. Volunteers who are interested in helping to hang art should contact the venue coordinator (contact info is in the call for art). The calls are sent to the entire membership approximately three weeks prior to the exhibit installation.
JURIED - Special Events are held to feature CAS artists and typically occur once during the year depending on venue schedules. Jurors may include venue staff, industry professionals, or other CAS members. These calls will remain open until the deadline. However, when space is limited, not every submission will be accepted, nor will every artist be represented. We will make every effort to accommodate as many artworks as possible while maintaining the esthetics of the show. For juried shows, you will be asked to include a JPEG image of each work submitted. Please read the call for art and guidelines for image format and submission. The coordinator will communicate which artworks are included in the exhibit. [Note: A jury fee may apply in some cases.]
CURATED - This is program is designed to attract high-end venues that want a consistent gallery presentation in their space, while offering our artists an opportunity to plan, install, and execute a professional show. Artists may apply to be represented in the CAS portfolio that will be available to potential venues. We offer curation services to customize exhibits that fit the needs of the individual client. Selections will be made or delegated to the venue coordinator by the venue staff. Mentoring will be available to artists from venue coordinators and experienced CAS members. Artists are responsible for hanging and striking their own art and for creating their own labels. Exhibits typically feature one to three artists per show and are scheduled up to a year in advance. The venue coordinator and venue representative may choose to send the Call for Art to selected portfolio artists, the entire portfolio or the entire CAS membership as needed.
All current CAS members are encouraged to enter all of our shows. Please read the individual calls for art carefully to determine the submission process for each exhibit. Be sure that you a receive confirmation message that your submission was received when you submit online or from the coordinator when you submit by email.
