20​20 BY-LAW APPROVAL & Board of directors election  

In accordance with the By-Laws of the Creative Arts Society an election will be held annually to elect the Board of Directors.  Request for nominations was made at the September Membership Meeting and closed one day before this ballot was posted.  
  • Each active member of CAS has been sent an email containing a link to this ballot.  
  • The individual with the most votes at the close of the election period will sit on the 2020 board for the position for which they were a candidate.
  • If there is only one name listed, it is because there were no other nominations for volunteers for the position.
  • To ensure the integrity of the voting process, please vote only once.
  • Voting will close on November 25th
  • Officers will be inducted at the December Membership Meeting.

The following persons were nominated for the positions indicated to serve on the 2020 Board of Directors.  Please vote by selecting the button next to the name of your preferred candidate.

    ​APPROVAL OF AMENDED BY-LAWS
    Due to the on-going growth of CAS the Board of Director has determined two positions should be added to the board to help expand exhibit opportunities for members and to assist with communications with Austin Community College and to expand student participation in CAS events.
    Addition of a Community Events Chair, who's duties read as follows:

    Q. Community Events Chair
    a) The Community Events Chair is responsible for coordinating CAS participation in community art events (e.g. EAST).
    b) The Community Events Chair can appoint individuals to assist in planning and coordinating the events as necessary.
    c) The Community Events Chair will facilitate communications between venues, participating members and the board.
    d) The Community Events Chair reports to the Board and implements Board decisions.

    Addition of a ACC Liaison, who's duties read as follows:

    ​    R. ACC Liaison
    a) The ACC Liaison work to encourage ACC students to participate CAS.
    b) The ACC Liaison will develop potential activities that will include students.
    c) The ACC Liaison will assist in communications with ACC administration.
    d) The ACC Liaison reports to the Board and implements Board decisions.​
    In accordance with Article VII-Amendments to this Constitution and Bylaws, the constitution and bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) affirmative vote of the eligible voting membership to effect the changes (Amended Constitution and Bylaws attached). Please signify your approval below:

    Change of language regarding the dates for the election of officers:

    Change Article VII, Section 1 Paragraph 2 FROM "This position prepares the slate of officers as defined in Article III of the Constitution to be published on the CAS web site and presented to the membership via email no later than October 15 of the preceding year" TO "This position prepares the slate of officers as defined in Article III of the Constitution to be published on the CAS web site and presented to the membership via email no later than 30 days prior to the last general meeting of the calendar year"

    Change Article VII, Section 3,, Paragraph 2 FROM "Data from the submitted forms will be exported and provided to the Immediate Past President at least one day prior to the November meeting" TO "Data from the submitted forms [online election data] will be exported and provided to the Immediate Past President at least one day prior to the     last general meeting of the calendar year"
